2022 At Shape London: Taking Luxury Interiors To The Next Level

As we come to the end of 2022, we can’t help but look back fondly at another fantastic year for Shape London. They say that you never really work a day in your life if you love what you do, and that couldn’t be more true for our team. Our passion for bespoke joinery, kitchens and luxury interiors is clear to see from project to project and 2022 may well be our best year yet.

Award-Worthy Luxury Interiors

We can’t begin to look back at the last 12 months without first mentioning our nod at The International Design & Architecture Awards this year. While we are a humble team of creatives, we think we’ve definitely earned our bragging rights on this one!
Back in September, celebrations were in full swing as Shape London was shortlisted in the category of ‘Kitchen Design over £50,000’ for our work on The Midsummer Kitchen. It was truly an honour to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation and have our project showcased amongst such an elite group of international designers, architects and construction professionals. While we didn’t take home the crown on this occasion, the experience certainly cemented our belief in the quality of the luxury interiors we produce. Roll on next year!

Labours Of Love

We’ve had the absolute pleasure of working on so many luxury interiors within 2022 that it’s hard to narrow down our favourites! Here are 3 clear highlights, but feel free to browse more of our projects here.

London Mews House

This gorgeous large mews house in Kensington offered a satisfying canvas on which to unleash our bubbling creativity. The feature we’re probably most fond of here is the 4-storey staircase, which is a developmental flitched laser cut steel and plywood structure with solid oak balustrades and spindles, offering a sense of weightlessness in how it spans from floor plate to wall, suspended in the stair void. The custom shelving acts as a throughline that connects the rooms and creates a light and airy space throughout. Full joinery installations like this one are a dream to work on and we think our enthusiasm really shows in the final outcome.

House On The Hill

One of our latest luxury interiors was a full house installation, House On The Hill. It epitomises grandeur, with something new to look at around every corner. It was very important to this client that each space was tailored specifically to their needs and their lifestyle, from the practical yet contemporary choices that make up their signature bespoke kitchen to charming joinery details, like the concealed library door. This project oozes character and sophistication.

The Hidden House

At the tail end of the year, we finished work on one of our smaller projects to date. The Hidden House presented new challenges of transforming a smaller space than we’re used to in order to make it multifunctional for modern living. In 2022, space is a rare commodity and every square foot needs to count, which is why we put our minds together to create a bespoke fold-away bed that allows the bedroom to double up as a home office, yoga studio and gym! The surrounding cabinetry adds much-needed storage and allows for a completely seamless finish to the design.

Here’s To 2023

We’d like to take a moment to thank every member of the Shape London team who make what we do so enjoyable and who works so hard year-round. Thank you to our wonderful clients who put their faith in our skills and our dedication to making their visions come to fruition. Finally, thank you to the many interior designers, architects, contractors, photographers and more that we work alongside to push the boundaries of bespoke joinery and luxury interiors with every single project.

If you’d like to work with us in 2023, don’t hesitate to get in touch as we anticipate next year to be even bigger and better than this one. In the meantime, our journey continues and you can follow along on Facebook and Instagram.

Merry Christmas and have a very happy new year!
