Courtyard House
Within the Courtyard House, Shape worked with the Architect and Client to create a modern and elegant, family-friendly home. We utilised a light material palette of muted colours and white-washed Oak and Ash to enhance the already plentiful natural light of each space, creating a beautiful, contemporary urban oasis.

Within the kitchen, Cornforth White sprayed doors and panels are complimented with white-washed Ash detailing, creating a refined and timeless aesthetic. A shark-nosed Carrara Quartz worktop adds a crisp, slim profiled edge, framing the cabinetry. This is achieved through the chamfered edges of the doors and drawers, elevating the look and feel of the kitchen.
On the reverse of the island, the Carrara Quartz worktop coordinates beautifully with the white-washed Ash doors and floating shelves. Ash was also used internally, the door hung spice racks offer a decorative storage solution, and the built in Wine Fridge has a recessed Ash handle detail.
In the utility, the same Carrara Quartz was used for the worktop & upstand to coordinate with the kitchen, this time pairing it with muted Teresa Green sprayed doors and panels, Oak floating shelves, and a white ceramic farmhouse Belfast sink. Antique Bronze, half-moon handles complete the contemporary classical aesthetic.
Within the master bedroom, the contemporary wardrobes make a statement, elevating the look and feel of the space. The dark navy spraywork is elegantly complemented by raw Brass and Chestnut leather handles, whilst the Stone Oak cabinet internals and drawers offer a tasteful contrast.
Integrated door sensors ensure that the contents of the wardrobes are illuminated when opened, utilising LED hanging rails.
The stylish, yet playful cabinetry in the children’s bedrooms of the Courtyard house add an element of whimsy to the home. Here a robust and practical material palette was chosen, utilising dusky blue Perfect Touch doors and panelling which are accented by Navarra Ash exposed shelving.
We incorporated Muuto Dots in a variety of sizes, that double as both handles and coat hooks. In the adjoining bedroom, Dowsing and Reynolds ‘Thor’ leather handles with a raw brass finish are combined with soft grey cabinetry to create a more ‘grown-up’ space with plenty of storage and sufficient shelving to show off the finest toys and trophies!
