The Artist’s House

Within The Artist’s House, Shape worked with the Architect & client to create a contemporary take on a classic style for a creative family’s Grade II listed Georgian home.

Within the kitchen, traditional shaker panelling was given a modern refresh, with contrasting shades of Farrow and Ball’s Purbeck Stone and Railing. We complemented these colours with a classic marble worktop and brass hardware.

The internals were also carefully considered and crafted, with a bespoke larder cabinet and dovetailed drawer boxes, both created using natural Oak.

Throughout the house, we used coordinating brass hardware, which paired perfectly with the striking colours chosen by the client. Slatted shelving in the utility maximises storage & aids ventilation, essential for a growing family, and a corridor boot room provides space for shoes and outerwear, whilst a custom window seat perfectly frames the views in the living room.

In the master suite, we created an integrated dressing room, with Oak laminate internals with Solid Oak drawers, accent LED lighting, and a hidden panelled sliding door, which conceals the entrance to the master bathroom.

Here we created a shaker style cistern cabinet, adding storage to an otherwise under-utilised space.

In the children’s bedroom, we used durable Perfect Touch in Denim Blue with playful Dowsing and Reynold leather pull handles. An Oak laminate desk wraps around awkwardly-shaped corners, creating useful desk space for homework and crafts under the sloping eaves of the roof.
