The Lunar Kitchen
The Lunar Kitchen was a unique and fun design challenge for us, which involved designing a kitchen and staircase in tandem to transform a double height space into the centerpiece of this beautiful period property. We worked closely with the client to develop the concept design, then used our technical modelling skills to hone and review the various idiosyncrasies of such a complex installation.

We incorporated recessed LED lighting into the statement punched Oak storage boxes, as well as beneath the high level cabinets and within the drinks/ larder cabinet.

We also added a custom wine rack, tucked to the right of the fridge, matching the slender pull-out larder unit to the left.

Custom-stained Oak treads shadow off the walls, this adds a sense of weightlessness to the structure. Integrated LED lighting below the bespoke handrail illuminates and adds to the atmosphere of the stairwell. As you ascend, the corner turn reveals the glass panes, affording glimpses of the kitchen from above.

The statement island and worktop is in a Carrara Quartz, and the internals contrast this neutral palette with the rich tones of Oak, stained to match the herringbone flooring.

The pared-back colour palette allows the unique configuration of the kitchen to shine.

The two elevations of the kitchen are distinguished by the two varying door panel styles; one, a flat slab with recessed handle details, the other a delicate quirk detail accented with Brass pulls - yet both sprayed in Farrow and Ball’s Ammonite.
