The Marbello Kitchen

Beautiful materials & impeccable detailing. This truly unique kitchen is characterised by the vertical white washed Oak slats and a feature curved wall with recessed LED lighting.

Within an open plan ground floor kitchen / living and dining space that provides a context of light grey polished concrete floors, existing white-washed Dinesen Douglas fir joinery, and ample top lighting through the glass roof above, this compact kitchen had to create a natural material warmth, remain tidy through ingenious concealed cabinetry and offer a real focal point as you enter.

Vertical white washed Oak slats were used to create a play of light and shadow both when lit from daylight above and in the evening through the recessed LED lights embedded in the joinery.

The linear patterning across the surfaces conceal the varied widths and arrangement of the latest integrated appliances and pull-out storage solutions through carefully matched slat widths. Hit and miss slat openings at high level offer ventilation for the neatly concealed AC system and pull out shelves for coffee makers complete with bespoke pod holder drawer insert emphasise that whilst beauty is important, function is necessary.

The Marbello Kitchen features pull out shelves for coffee makers complete with bespoke pod holder drawer insert.

A curved feature end cabinet starts a solid wall of tall units that fades into a more subtle visual layering of materials through open slatted Oak doors, sat above the display shelving mounted in front of the Sapien Stone ‘Calacatta Macchia Vecchia’ splashback over the hob. The inclusion of the Sapien Stone within the slatted extractor cabinet creates the illusion of a full wall of stone.

The waterfall island intended to complement the dining area as a secondary home working area / breakfast bar sits opposite a concealed larder. This contrasting pocket of luxurious dark American Black Walnut and Marazzi Saharra Noir stone, mirrored lining and glass shelving is concealed within the pale Oak pocket doors. A secret cabinet for evening entertaining.
